It’s the day seniors have circled on their calendars since school began in August.
About 275 seniors will participate tonight when Churchill County High School’s Class of 2013 celebrates its commencement ceremony at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.
The graduation event begins at 7 p.m. and gates for parking and the stadium open at 5:30. School officials ask guests to park in the student parking lot off Sheckler Road and enter the stadium through the ticket gate. Additional parking will be available at the Churchill County Fairgrounds when the student parking lot is filled.
Mitch Overlie, a teacher who also serves as head coach for the CCHS wrestling and cross country programs, will give the keynote address.
Each graduate has received five tickets to give to his or her guests, who may sit on the football field during the ceremony. All other guests are invited to sit in the grandstands.
Handicapped parking available and golf carts will be available to assist in transporting handicapped attendees to the field. No saving of seats will be allowed before 5:30 p.m., according to school officials.
