The Fallon football program will be well represented at the 32nd annual Sparks Sertoma Classic.
The Greenwave nabbed five selections for the game, which is scheduled for June 21 at 7 p.m. at Damonte Ranch High School.
The senior all-star game will feature Fallon’s Skye Barton (DB/WR), Tyson Ernst (RB), Ian Fitzpatrick (DL), Dalton Johnson (LB) and Trevor Parsons (OL), who will play for the Silver team.
Truckee earned the most bids for the Silver team with seven followed by Reed and Fallon.
For the Blue team, Fernley’s Tim Klotz, Salyas Conner and Andrew Nelson were selected.
The showcase event features the best recently graduated senior players from 30 participating high schools in Northern Nevada, pitting the Blue all-stars against the Silver.
Longtime Truckee head coach Bob Shaffer will get one final coaching hurrah after announcing his retirement this past winter, as he and his staff will lead the Silver team into battle against the Blue team. The Blue squad will be led by Damonte Ranch coach Shawn Dupris and his staff.
Shaffer and crew also coached the Silver all-stars in last year’s game, as well as 2010. This year’s game will mark Shaffer’s seventh Sertoma Classic.
The Silver team consists of players from Division I schools Reed, Spanish Springs, Hug, Galena and Bishop Manogue, Division I-A Truckee, Fallon, Lowry, Dayton and Spring Creek, and Division III Battle Mountain.
The Blue Team is made up of players from Division I schools McQueen, Damonte Ranch, Carson and Reno, Division I-A members Elko, Fernley, South Tahoe and Sparks, and Division III North Tahoe, Incline, Pershing County, Silver Stage and Yerington.
