Police: Fallon woman died from sharp force instrument

The initial report on an autopsy of a Fallon woman found dead in her home earlier this week indicates she died from a sharp force instrument.

Fallon Police Chief Kevin Gehman said his officers responded to the Ideal Mobile Home Park on Tuesday. Once they arrived, they discovered the body of Wendy Kwapich-Missi, 40. Gehman said the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and the Washoe County Forensic team provided assistance Furthermore, Gehman said The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Washoe County Crime Lab are continuing their examination and analysis of the items collected from the scene and awaiting the results of a toxicology screening.
