Western Nevada College Fallon campus is offering several College for Kids this summer in its Community Education Division.
The courses are designed to enrich the cultural, social and recreational life of our community. Course details and registration information is available at www.campusce.net/wnc.
Beginning Ceramics for kids, June 24–July 24, Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-noon. Introductory ceramics for young students and students that have never worked in clay before. There will be 5-6 projects, supplies included. Ages: 6 and up. Cost: $36.
Beginning Drawing & Painting for kids, June 24–July 24, Mondays and Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m. Students will be introduced to Art elements such as color, line, shade, shadow, shape, and art design points. Supply list noted on website. Ages: 6 and up. Cost: $36.
Basic Sewing for Kids, June 25–July 23, Tuesdays with a possible Thursday, 1-4 p.m. Students will learn how to use a sewing machine and simple hand stitching. The enrollment has a low maximum so enroll soon. Ages: 10-14. Cost: $36.
American Sign Language for Kids, July 1-12, Monday through Friday, July 4th there will be no class. Students will learn introductory conversation, vocabulary, and fingerspelling using hands-on activities including games and group-work. Grades: 3rd-6th. Cost: $106.
Draw & Paint with Oil Paints, July 16-Aug. 13, Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m. Students will do a drawing of their intended subject as a preliminary step to doing their oil painting. Knowledge of basic drawing is helpful. Students will receive a supply list at the first meeting. Ages: 10 and up.
Babysitting Certification, July 20, Saturday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. For kids ages 11 and older. Students learn business techniques, interviewing and child care for different age groups. Cost: $72 includes a manual and American Red Cross card.
