Troy Dillard, who has served as interim director of the Department of Motor Vehicles since November, will officially lead the agency.

“Troy is respected throughout the department and has worked diligently with legislators during the most recent legislative session,” Gov. Brian Sandoval said in a statement. “I am pleased he has agreed to continue to serve our state in this manner.”

Before his appointment to the top job, Dillard was head of DMV’s Compliance Enforcement Division. He has a degree in criminal science from University of Nevada, Reno, and is a graduate of Mineral County High School.
