Lucile Boyd passed away in her home after four weeks under the care of Hospice. She was born in Martin, Tennessee on February 28, 1923 to B. R. Boyd and Annie Mae Boyd. Lucile was preceded in death by her father, B. R. Boyd; her mother, Annie Mae and her brother, Charles Boyd.
She will be missed by many friends and her family. She leaves behind sons, Charles of Arizona and Steven Glisson of Los Angeles, California; her daughter, Patti Strocchio and husband, Dean; along with her daughter, Rhonda Glisson and husband, Richard Palmer all of Carson City; brothers, Roy Boyd, James Boyd and sister, Louise.
Lucile had many grandchildren, Mali, Brittney,Kylene, Dillan, Shelly and Junior. She was preceded in death by Charles Glisson Jr. She had a special relationship with her granddaughter, Rachel Palmer of Las Vegas, Nevada. Always sharing stories and pictures of Rachel with all and they knew that Rachel was her precious.
She came to Carson City in 1958 and worked at the Nugget and the Silver Spur before getting a State of Nevada job at the Department of Motor Vehicles. She worked for the Department of Education for many years and then the prison system for the wardens at the women facility. She retired from the State of Nevada after 30 years of service.
She is no longer in pain and is with our Heavenly Father above and in our hearts forever. By honoring her wishes there will be no services and only a family gathering to spread her ashes.
