The Fallon Police Department is continuing to check leads from yesterday’s

bomb scare at Walmart.

FPD Chief Kevin Gehman said Wednesday morning his department has launched an

investigation into the incident, which occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Gehman

said the FBI will probably not become involved with the investigation unless

a pattern of bomb scares were occurring at other Walmart stores.

According to the FBI, once the bomb scare was called into Walmart, the

store’s management contacted FPD.

“The Walmart store was evacuated for the safety of the customers and

employees,” said Capt. Vern Ulrich.

Ulrich said Fallon Police then requested assistance from Naval Air Station

Fallon’s EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team. The EOD team and a bomb dog

searched the store and nothing was located.

Ulrich said Walmart reopened at about 8:45 a.m.
