Sweeney crowned Miss Carson City

Diana Sweeney was recently crowned Miss Carson City 2013 at the Northern Open Pageant held at Galena High School.

Sweeney was named Carson City’s Outstanding Teen in 2010 and was first runner-up for Miss Nevada 2012. She will compete in Las Vegas in June for the title of Miss Nevada 2013.

She works to raise money and awareness for the Buddy Wall, Special Olympics and the Children’s Miracle Network and teaches and choreographs. Her junior group routines have placed first the past two years at Spotlight Nationals.

She is a Carson High School graduate and is currently a sophomore at the University of Nevada, Reno working on a double major in mathematics and education. She plans to teach high school math upon graduation.
