LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada’s top prosecutor has returned from a trip to Mexico City to discuss anti-crime efforts with Mexican federal officials.
Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto visited the new Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam during a trip with attorneys general from Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, and Utah.
Masto and the delegation discussed transnational crime issues including human trafficking, drug trafficking, and judicial reform.
She said it’s important to maintain good working relationships with her counterparts south of the border in order to better deal with the problems the two countries share.
The group also visited the U.S. Embassy to meet with U.S. Ambassador Earl Anthony Wayne.
