Fallon physician accepts plea deal in Justice Court

A Fallon doctor accepted a plea deal Thursday in Justice Court.

Gary Ridenour is expected to plead guilty to one gross misdemeanor count of possessing a shell emitting tear gas.

Special prosecutor Brandi Jensen said an amended criminal complaint will be filed in Justice Court today. Ridenour will appear Tuesday in District Court.

According to court records, Ridenour was arrested Sept. 1, 2012, by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office on one count of an ex-felon not to posses a firearm. He was convicted in U.S. District Court in 1994 for one count of unlawful use of communications.

According to the complaint, Ridenour had at least 11 weapons in his possession including an AK47, two shotguns and numerous pistols and rifles.

A gross misdemeanor carries a one-year sentence in the Churchill County Jail.

In other court news —

Troy Wayne Coonrod plead guilty Tuesday in District Court to one count of conspiracy to commit a felony crime under the uniform controlled substance vact.

According to court records, Coonrod was arrested Dec. 8, 2012, after he conspired with another man to transport marijuana.

Coonrod faces one to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. He is eligible for probation.

Joseph Allen Oxford-McArthur plead guilty to one count of battery that constitutes domestic violence, a third offense.

He faces one to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine and is not eligible for probation.
