Sample ballots have been sent out and early voting is set to begin Saturday for the city of Fallon’s upcoming City Council election.
Two seats — Ward I and Ward III — are being contested between four candidates in a campaign that culminates with election Tuesday on June 4. Rachel Dahl will face off against Susan Smith-Savala for the Ward I seat while the Ward III seat will be contested between James D. Richardson and Eric W. Blakey to determine the four-year terms.
Early voting will be conducted beginning Saturday through May 31. Early voting on Saturday will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, 55 W. Williams Ave. Early voting will continue next week at the City Clerk’s office, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, May 20-24.
Voter registration for the election closes today, according to Clerk/Treasurer Gary Cordes.
The polls on June 4 will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Fallon Convention Center.
Ward I has 1,346 registered voters and Ward III has 1,290 registered voters, according to Cordes.
