Joyce’s Fine Jewelry will sponsor a summer concert series to feature local and regional bands performing a mixture of rock, blues, Jazz and folk numbers at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park, 1450 Highway 88 in Minden. The series will feature one concert per month from June to August.
“The Dangberg family and their ranch represent a part of Carson Valley’s history that is important to me and many others,” said Norie Jenkins, owner of Joyce’s Fine Jewelry. “What a better way to celebrate our unique history and the strength of today’s community than music with a view.”
Kicking off the series with a blend of contemporary Jazz, soul and reggae is The Mark Sexton Band set to perform June 23. Bassist Alex Korostinsky and drummer Dan Weiss will join guitarist Sexton. Opening vocalist and Jazz pianist Anthony Janssen will perform a variety from the Great American Songbook and recent standards. Janssen has worked with Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble and Kenny Loggins.
The five-piece, high energy classic rock, blues and country group Out of Bounds will perform July 21. Guitarist Tynan Phillips will open with classic blues and rock songs.
The Novelists will perform Aug. 25. The nationally touring acoustic group with multiple lead singers have built their sound around storytelling and four-part harmonies. Vocalist Vanessa Littrell will introduce the evening in the style of Sarah McLachlan and Norah Jones.
Each concert begins at 5 p.m. on the park’s east lawn. The audience is invited to bring food and chairs. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for ages 16 and younger and are available at Joyce’s Fine Jewelry, Battle Born Wine, Plant It Nursery and The Entertainer or online at www.dangberghomeranch.org.
