Carson City’s Charter Review Committee on Wednesday chose Rob Joiner, a longtime planner with an economic development background, to serve as chairman of the panel.

Joiner received four of the panel’s six votes after he and Bruce Robertson, vice chairman in the past term, were nominated.

The committee selected Robertson, who has served two terms on the panel, to serve as the vice chairman again.

Committee members noted that a bill in the Legislature could change the committee. The legislative session doesn’t end until next month. Panel members will be informed of the outcome of that legislation, City Manager Larry Werner said.

“As soon as we know, you’ll know,” he said.
