The Carson City Raiders Booster’s Club annual fundraiser and auction is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Carson Lanes Eleventh Frame Lounge.
All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase Christmas gifts for 20 homebound seniors in the community. Each year members shop, wrap, deliver and visit each homebound senior on the club’s list. There will be prizes, a 50-50 raffle plus a live and silent auction.
Live auction prizes are a round for two at Eagle Valley Golf Club, an overnight stay at Gold Dust West, including bowling and two meals per person, an overnight stay at Harrah’s/Harveys with dinner and a show, a round of golf for two at Thunder Canyon.
Silent auction items include gift certificates from Adele’s, Old Red’s, Pioneer Crossing/Branding Iron Cafe, Joanie’s Creekside Cafe, Mustang Sallie’s/Deuce Grill, Red Dog Saloon, Purple Avocado and Dutch Bros. There are clothing items also available.

Dalen wins at Empire
Gary Dalen scored 46 points to win Flight A at the recent Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club Modified Stableford tournament.
Geoff Swann was second with 43 points, while Bill Hetherton and Jim Shabi were tied for third at 42 points. Nils Sharpe won Flight B with 48 points. John Lewis was second with 43, and Tom Teders and Marty Martinez tied for third at 41.
Elks schedules hoop contest
The Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 is hosting a Free Throw contest on Jan. 14 at the Carson City Community Center.
The contest is open to girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 13. Each participation must bring a birth certificate or age confirmation. Registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.. with competition starting shortly thereafter. A parent or guardian must accompany each participant.
The top two finishers in each category advance to the district event at Wooster High at a later date.

Mitey Mites lose to Cardinals
The Carson Mitey Mites were knocked off by the Sparks Cardinals, 38-6, in a playoff game on Saturday night.
Carson returns to action Friday night at Governors Field against Douglas.
Eduardo Orozco scored Carson’s lone touchdown, while Dawson Main ran for nearly 100 yards. Schuyler Clark and Nathan McKee did a nice job blocking, while Isac Avina, Zach Guthrie, Damian Morris and Vinny Ferretti were among the top defensive players.
