Lyon County authorities say vandals are slashing the tires of law enforcement vehicles and officers’ personal vehicles in Dayton.

Authorities say 12 personal vehicles belonging to officers were vandalized in the Dayton area Monday night, and 12 more personal vehicles and seven law enforcement vehicles were damaged Tuesday.

The vandalism included several vehicles belonging to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Nevada Highway Patrol and tribal police.

Investigators say most of the damage was from slashing all of the tires, but some vehicles were also “keyed” with a sharp object, leaving deep scratches on the body.

Secret Witness is offering an undetermined cash award for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
