A 21-year-old Fallon woman pleaded guilty last week in District Court for stabbing her stepfather on Oct. 14.
Jessica Leann Hitchcock entered the plea to one count of battery with a deadly weapon. She faces two to 10 years in prison although she is eligible for probation.
According to Churchill County Chief Deputy District Attorney Lane Mills, Hitchcock stabbed Ronald Austin, 51, with a blade approximately 7-8 inches long during a dispute at the Mobile Acres Mobile Home Park.
Fallon Police responded to the call at 2:36 a.m. Austin was treated by paramedics from Banner Churchill Community Hospital and transported to the medical facility. He was then transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno where he had surgery.

Mary Anne Banuelos pleaded guilty Tuesday in District Court to a drug charge.
She entered the plea to one count of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance for purposes of sale. She faces one to four years in prison.
Banuelos admitted to selling methamphetamine on Aug. 7. She will be sentenced Jan. 7, 2014.
Heidi Lou DeSelms pleaded guilty to one count of being under the influence of a controlled substance (meth).
She faces one to four years in prison, but is eligible for probation.
DeSelms is the wife of Charles DeSelms, who pleaded guilty to three drug charges in October.
Heidi DeSelms was reinstated to Drug Court in August after she was arrested for allegedly intimidating a witness regarding her husband’s case, according to previous reports.
She will be sentenced Jan. 7.
Ryan Wesley McNally pleaded guilty to one count of possession of controlled substance.
McNally was arrested Dec. 15, 2012, for possessing meth. He could be sentenced to one to four years in prison or probation.
McNally will be sentenced Jan. 7.
