A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday after allegedly handing a store clerk and a restaurant employee a note demanding $100 in $20 bills.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office:

Rhonda Lynnette Belisle admitted handing the note to an employee at 7-Eleven on North Carson Street on Nov. 3, and that she then went to Burger King across the street and did the same thing. She was rebuffed both times.

The clerk called the Sheriff’s Office when Belisle visited the store eight days later. Belisle told a deputy that a family member had dared her to take the note and see if she could get the money. She added that she’d returned to the convenience store to apologize.

Belisle was arrested on two counts of felony attempted robbery. Total bail was set at $80,000. She remained at the Carson City Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
