Residents of Fallon, Churchill County and the surrounding rural communities are invited to attend a public meeting on Thursday at 5 p.m., in the County Commissioners Chambers at 155 N. Taylor St.
Chancellor Daniel Klaich of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), and Ron Knecht, member of the NSHE Board of Regents, requested the meeting in order to provide local citizens with an update on the current status of Western Nevada College Fallon and to listen to concerns and answer questions concerning its future including the search for and desired qualities of a new WNC president.
Dr. Carol Lucey, WNC president for the past 14 years, recently retired from her position.
The Thursday meeting is a continuation of a similar meeting held on Oct. 31 at the college’s Carson City campus. An early evening time slot was chosen for the Fallon meeting in order to provide the opportunity for those who work to attend.
