Everett Chucko Williams, 80, passed away on November 10, 2013 at his home in Carson City. Chucko was born January 13, 1933 in Schurz, NV to Murphy Williams and Mamie Jones Williams. He attended elementary school in Schurz and graduated from the Stewart Indian School in 1950. Chucko returned to work at the Stewart Indian School in 1954 until its closure in 1980. His other employment included the Carson Tahoe Hospital, Richdel and the Washoe Tribal Clinic in Gardnerville. Chucko was involved in community boxing for 40 years, beginning his coaching career at the Stewart Indian School, helping coach Carson City PAL and until a few years ago helping coach the Carson City Boxing Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Allen Williams; his son, Duane Luke Williams and son, Randall Ray Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Williams of Carson City; son, Michael C. Williams of Fallon; eight grand-children and nine great grand-children.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Carson Colony Gym on South Curry Street in Carson City. Burial will take place at the Stewart Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Friday, November 22nd, from 5-8 p.m. at FitzHenry’s Funeral Home in Carson City.
