Stranger makes a panic: Carson City was thrown into a panic over the peculiar acts of a tall stranger who appeared in the governor’s office to shake hands with Maj. Garrard. When the stranger said, “Ha, ha my boy” with such familiarity, they feared he had escaped from the Reno Insane Asylum. Treasurer Tufly sat down on the stranger and held him until Hallock and Bicknell bound him. Farmer Treadway carefully examined the stranger and recognized him as Gov. Adams who had been away so long that he had been forgotten ... (Reveille)

All sorts: It is said that a pail of water containing a handful of hay, if placed in a room where people have been smoking, will absorb the odor of tobacco. Roy Mighels of the Appeal composing room is 21 years old today. The city police are requested to be lenient with him as it is not likely to occur again.

Museum heater: Work begins on the installing of a steam heating system in the Nevada State Museum by Carson City by Savage & Sons of Reno. DeLongchamp and O’Brien of Reno, architects, said the system will be completed in a few weeks.
