The Churchill County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an adult woman whose partial remains were located in a shallow grave north of Interstate 80 near the Jessup Exit on Aug. 18.
According to a press release from Sheriff Ben Trotter, examination of the remains reveals that the unidentified female suffered extensive trauma within a month or two preceding her death. He said this trauma includes but is not limited to fractured ribs and jaw. The female had received medical treatment for the broken jaw and still had the orthodonic arch bars in place.
The victim is described as a 5-foot to 5-foot-6-inch female, 25-45 years old of Caucasian/European ancestry.
Trotter said this case has been entered into the NamUs website and is viewable by the public; if anyone has any information that would assist the CCSO in identifying this woman, contact the CCSO at the following numbers:
