Volunteers needed Thanksgiving dinner
As Thanksgiving approaches, more volunteers are needed to help prepare the third annual Fernley Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
The turkeys will be provided to volunteer cooks prior to the event. Volunteers are also needed to help plan the event.
The dinner was organized to bring the community together to share a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and the dinner is not only for those who may be alone during the holiday, but for people who simply want to get to know their neighbors and other members of the town.
Volunteers who donate their time to this event not only help to make someone’s holiday better, but it also reinforces community pride.
The dinner will be held on Nov. 28 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Fernley Senior Citizens Center on Newlands Drive and is free for everyone in the community and for people of all ages and all walks of life.
Food donations and/or monetary donation are needed. For more information call Robert Gleason at 775-846-3129 and leave message with your name and number if there is no answer.
The event is sponsored by the community and local business owners.
