Health inspections: 11 Carson City eateries score 100 points

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Sept. 30. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Al Seeliger Elementary School, cafeteria, 2800 S. Saliman Road, scored 100 points.

Bordewich Bray Elementary School, cafeteria, 110 S. Thompson St., 100 points.

Carson Aerie, 1380 E. Fifth St., 100 points.

Carson Middle School, cafeteria, 1140 W. King St., 100 points.

Central Warehouse, Carson City School District, Richmond and Telegraph streets, 100 points.

Empire Elementary School, cafeteria, 1260 Monte Rosa St., 100 points.

John C. Fremont Elementary School, cafeteria, 1511 Firebox Road, 100 points.

Mark Twain Elementary School, cafeteria, 2111 Carriage Crest Drive, 100 points.

Pioneer High School, cafeteria, 202 E. Corbett St., 100 points.

Taco Bell, 4050 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Wendy’s, 4140 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Family Vision, mobile food vehicle, 99 points. An accurate and conspicuously located thermometer was not provided in the reach-in refrigerator.

Pizza Factory, 3120 E. U.S. Highway 50, Suite 3, 98 points. Eggs were stored above other potentially hazardous foods in the walk-in cooler.

Tacos El Guero, mobile food vehicle, 97 points. Reach-in refrigerator gaskets were damaged. Roof ventilation screens were greasy.

Beijing Palace, 4250 Cochise St., 87 pints. Foods were not labeled and dated in all refrigerators and freezers. Food was stored directly on the floor in the kitchen. Food was not covered in the walk-in refrigerator. Cleavers were stored in an unclean location between kitchen equipment. Food-preparation containers were dirty. The outside of refrigerators and storage racks in the kitchen were dirty. Lids on a trash bin and grease barrel were kept open. Grease was spilled on the concrete pad in the garbage storage area. One light over the exhaust hood was not protected with a safety cover. There was no proof a certified food handler was on staff.
