Search and rescue missions on the ground and in the air on Monday did not find a man who has been missing for several weeks.
The Churchill County Sheriff’s Office received a report last week of a missing man who resides in Fallon, said Sheriff Ben Trotter in a media release.
Michael Gutierrez, 45, last spoke to family on Sept. 19.
Trotter said Gutierrez did not report to work nine days ago and his family reported him as missing; the next day an extensive air and ground search was initiated. Trotter said an air search may be launched today.
On Thursday afternoon Gutierrez’s 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser was located in the desert about 15 miles northeast of town, and Trotter said the search continued through Saturday. Trotter said there is an unknown clothing description for Gutierrez..
Trotter said Gutierrez is entered into N.C.I.C. as missing, and a statewide bulletin has been broadcast. If anyone has information concerning the whereabouts of Gutierrez, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 775-423-3116.
