Business growth for manufacturing is a key element and prime goal of the Sierra Region Manufacturers Conference set for Wednesday at the Carson Nugget casino.

Ian Hill, CEO of The Changing Point, will deliver a motivational and inspirational speech for the Carson City gathering on how to set a climate for business growth. Others will be on hand to provide direction on operational strategies, energy efficiency, human resources and training today’s work force, cybersecurity and succession planning.

Carson City-based Northern Nevada Development Authority, Reno-based Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada and Nevada Industry Excellence are partners in putting on the conference, which costs registrants $120. That includes breakfast, lunch, a reception and the presentations. Also touted for participants is a chance to network and exchange techniques while picking up information from formal presentations.

“We’re looking forward to a great networking day,” said Sandy Haslem, director of Nevada Industry Excellence. “We’re always pleased to provide support to Nevada manufacturers.”

Haslem’s NIE, which has offices in Carson City, Reno and Las Vegas, provides industry training called Lean. It’s a business system for organizing and managing operations, suppliers and customer relations.
