Capital City Arts Initiative visiting curator Melanie Fales will deliver a free illustrated talk, “What Art Can Be,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the BRIC, 108 E. Proctor St. in Carson City.

Fales will discuss presenting contemporary art at the Boise Art Museum, where she has served as executive director since 2008.

As part of her CCAI visit, she also will give her talk to art students and faculty members at Douglas High School in Minden and at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village.

An informal reception for Fales will precede the talk at 6:15 p.m. The talk is the latest installment of Nevada Neighbors, which the Carson City Library co-sponsors with CCAI.
