Fallon woman charged with stabbing

A Fallon woman has been booked into the county jail charged with allegedly stabbing her stepfather early Monday morning.

The Fallon Police Department said Jessica Leann Hitchcock, 21, was arrested and charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Domestic Battery. Her bail has been set at $31,130.

Police said the victim, Ronald Austin, 51, was stabbed multiple times at his home in the Mobile Acres Mobile Home Park, 855 Harrigan Road. Police responded to the call at 2:36 a.m.

According to the FPD, Austin was treated by paramedics from Banner Churchill Community Hospital and transported to the medical facility. He was then transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno where he was scheduled to have surgery Monday. His condition was listed as stable.

The incident is under investigation, but FPD Capt. Vern Ulrich said his department wants to talk with Austin either Tuesday or Wednesday.
