The Nevada Rural Housing Authority and Heritage Bank will partner to give qualified first-time homebuyers down-payment assistance, according to the bank.
Thomas Traficanti, the bank’s executive vice president, said his financial institution is participating again in the Home at Last WISH program provided through the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco for homebuyers in rural areas with incomes below 80 percent of the area’s median income. Rural in Northern Nevada cases means outside of Reno.
The program provides down-payment assistance of up to $15,000. The bank said it has allocated $180,000 to the NRHA for the program.
The NRHA has a range of housing and community-development programs to help build sustainable communities. Heritage Bank has branches in Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Carson Valley.
