The Sand Mountain third annual lighted Halloween parade for Off Highway Vehicles will be held Saturday night.
Two classes of vehicles — all-terrain vehicle (ATV)/utility-terrain vehicles — and trucks/buggies will compete in various events on the dunes. Prizes will be awarded to winners of each event.
Nevada Outdoor School will be at Sand Mountain on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to provide ATV Rider Safety certification and “Tread Lightly” course information. Anyone interested in these courses should look for the Nevada Outdoor School booth in Vendor Row to sign up or obtain additional information. The classes are geared toward riders between the ages of 6-15 years.
Please note that Nevada State OHV or other valid state OHV registration is required on public lands by the State of Nevada for all OHVs. Information regarding the Nevada OHV registration can be found at http://nvohv.com/registration/.
