Vegas businessman seeks Assembly seat

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas businessman says he’s running for the Nevada Assembly.

Sanje Sedera says he’ll seek the District 34 seat held by Democratic Majority Leader William Horne, who is termed out and will leave office after the 2014 election.

A Democrat, Sedera serves as a commissioner for the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority. He also is a court mediator and a member of the Las Vegas Citizens Review Board for the police department.

Sedera was born in Sri Lanka and has lived in Nevada since 1995, working in real estate.
