Young actors sought for ‘Shrek’

Thespians ages 5 to 20 are invited to audition for Youth Theatre Carson City’s “Shrek: The Musical,” an adaptation of the DreamWorks film about an ogre who rescues a feisty princess, at 10 a.m. Saturday in the gymnasium at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

The show is set to run Jan. 10-12 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

Auditioners must be ready for movement and dance and must arrive with a prepared minute-long song.

Tuition costs $100 per person; scholarships are available upon application.

Youth Theatre Carson City operates primarily at the Carson City Community Center as part of the Carson City Recreation Department. The group produces three to five productions per year and features all-youth casts.
