Douglas County is sponsoring a Punt, Pass and Kick competition Sept. 28 at Stodick Park in Gardnerville starting at 10 a.m.
The event is open to boys and girls between 6 and 15 years of age. The event is free and open to people in Carson, South Tahoe, Truckee, North Lake Tahoe, Coleville, Incline, Yerington and Smith Valley.

Sparman wins A flight
Jack Sparman shot a net 66 to win the top flight for the Carson Valley Men’s Golf Club stroke play event on Sept. 8 Pete Rogney was second with a 71.
Roger Hala won the B flight with a 66, 10 shots better than Joe Morrison and 11 ahead of Augie Martinez. Gary Cartsen won the C flight with a 69, three shots better than Jim Arens. Paul Finan won the D flight with a 73, while Paul Lockwood and John Guidicatti were tied for second at 76.
Silsby, Fox combine for win
Jim Silsby and Don Fox combined for a 62 to win Silver Oak Men’s Club 2-man 666 event on Sept. 3.
Hal Turner and Gerald Bruce were second at 63, and there was a three-way tie for third between Bruce Kzak and Tim Bloom. James Barnett and Rion Cusey, and Glenn Stegeman and Eric Fujita.
Scramble at Empire Ranch
John Masiello, Nick Paul, John Lewis and Gary Mick combined for a net 43 to win Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Golf Club 4-man scramble event on Sept. 4.
Nils Sharpe, Phil Polaske, Bob Warzynski and Bill Barker were second at 47. Don Becker, Joe O’Brien, Ray McParti and Cleve Dalen were third at 48.
