Wetlandand Wings is the youth education division of the Friends of Stillwater NWR 501c 3 nonprofit group.
This is the fourth season of the youth waterfowl event that includes education workshops, shooting clinic and a mentored waterfowl hunt on Stillwater refuge. Many sponsors and donors make this event possible to get youth outdoors and introduced to an American tradition — waterfowling.
This is a free event for kids ages 10-15 years old no prior hunting/shooting experience required.
Youth 12 years and over need a Nevada hunt license or Apprentice license (available at www.ndow.org or any NDOW office) and a state duck stamp ($10).
All gear is provided (guns, shells, decoys, calls, waders, field bag, water/snacks).
Half-day shotgun shooting clinic 9/21 (Fallon Trap Club).
Education workshop and dinner Friday evening 9/27 (duck calls and decoys, bird identification, field safety and hunt etiquette).
Youth campout at Stillwater Refuge Friday night, Sept. 27 (with adult chaperones).
