Wells Fargo has announced it will host a Student Financial Education Day at all of its banking locations in Nevada and five other western states on Saturday, reaffirming its commitment to financial education and helping its customers succeed financially.
The purpose of the event is to help educate students and their parents about the importance of money management, establishing credit and preparing to pay for college. By providing financial education resources and complimentary financial reviews, Wells Fargo’s Student Financial Education Day will inspire teens and young adults to build the foundation to a strong financial future.
“There is a critical need for financial education in the State of Nevada,” said Nevada Region President Kirk Clausen. “This is why we are excited to invest in the financial future of high school and college students by hosting this event at all of our banking stores across the Silver State on September 21.”
The six states participating in Student Financial Education Day are Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Washington. In these states alone, Wells Fargo has nearly 800 banking locations. In Nevada, Wells Fargo has 119 banking locations from Lake Tahoe to Elko and from Pahrump to Mesquite all taking part in this event.
Because business hours vary by location, Wells Fargo encourages people interested in attending Student Financial Education Day to contact their local Wells Fargo banking store for additional information.
In 2012, Wells Fargo gave nearly $3 million to support nonprofits and education in Nevada through team member, corporate and foundation giving. Wells Fargo team members in Nevada also donated more than $98,000 to educational foundations and the company matched those educational gifts dollar-for-dollar, doubling the contributions to nearly $200,000.
