Dayton picked up a three-game sweep of Fallon in Division 1A action on Friday night (25-23, 25-18, 25-15).
“I think we came in a little overconfident and Fallon whipped up on us,” coach Monica Halverson said of the early going. She said the Game 1 win, by the Dust Devils, set the tone for the match.
Ashley Vickers had 12 kills and three aces. Madi Foley had 14 digs and 22 kills. Peach Coons had 37 assists, Taryn Schriner contributed 18 digs and Lettie Lynch added 11 digs.
Dayton, 21-7 and 7-0, travel to Lovelock on Wednesday before playing Fernley on Friday and Reed on Saturday.
Yerington wins in three
Yerington picked up a three-game road win on Friday (25-13, 25-11, 25-14). Kassidy Lommori had nine kills to lead the Lions. Angela Sciarani had eight digs, Chloe Dane had three blocks, Brianna Ramirez had four aces and Ashley Rife added 13 assists to lead Yerington (12-9 and 4-0).
JV FOOTBALL
Carson edges Reed
SPARKS — Carson came back from a 33-19 fourth-quarter deficit to edge Reed, 34-33, Thursday night in a JV football game.
Conner Pradere scored both fourth-quarter touchdowns on passes of 37 and 11 yards from Vic Castro V. Castro and Jared Rooker hooked up for the game-winning two-point conversion with approximately two minutes left in the game.
Carson, 2-1, hosts Damonte Ranch Thursday at 5:45 p.m.
Elijah Fajayan rushed 12 times for 154 yards and a score, including a 72-yard TD run. Pradere had seven catches for 94 yards and Castro was 13 of 21 for 155 yards. Rooker had 10 carries for 32 yards, three catches for 17 yards and a 78-yard kick-off return. Mathias Williams opened the game with an 85-yard kick return.
Defensively, Ikela Lewis had eight tackles, Joe Nelson added seven, Brady O’Keefe six, and Rooker and Ben Ray five apiece. Williams had a game-ending interception when the Raiders were attempting to come back.
