Water and conservation-related issues are set for discussion Thursday at a forum in Carson City.
The Carson River Coalition and the Carson Water Subconservancy District are holding their 2014 Carson River Watershed Forum in Ruvo Hall at the Governor’s Mansion, 606 Mountain St., from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Registration is set to start at 8:15 a.m. for people who don’t pre-register.
Topics will include water quality, water supply, environmental education, habitat, invasive species, flood plain protection and the like.
The keynote guest speaker is Stephanie Tutera-Gardner, who will discuss the Harvest Hub cooperative grocery and deli planned for Carson City at the corner of Curry and Washington streets.
Sponsors encourage river user groups, resource professionals, federal, state and local government agency staff people dealing with pertinent issues, and the general public to consider attending the forum.
