Bob Getto, a lifelong Fallon resident and co-owner of Ferguson & Getto Inc., Realtors, has been appointed to serve on the National Association of Realtors’ committee that sets policy for Multiple Listing Services — the trading platform of real estate across the country.
In this appointment, Getto will attend meetings with the thought leaders of the real estate industry. For the next three years he will be traveling to Washington D.C. for mid-year legislative meetings and to the annual realtors conferences where he will make recommendations on issues relating to the operation of multiple listing services (or MLS) and advise on current developments that could have an impact on the real estate industry.
Getto was chosen for this position in part for his vast experience serving the local real estate community. Currently, he is Churchill County director for the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors and was named the association’s Realtor of the Year in 2010. Since 2005 he has dedicated his time and energy to the Northern Nevada Regional MLS, serving as president for his second term in 2014.
Shelley Specchio, CEO of the Northern Nevada Regional MLS recommended Getto for this appointment
“Our industry needs leaders who are engaged, dedicated, and genuinely interested in helping our industry offer the best service and value while continuing to help people realize the dream of homeownership; Bob is that kind of leader,” she said.
Specializing in general real estate sales through his Nevada Real Estate Broker license, Getto also holds professional licensing as a Nevada General Building Contractor and Nevada Residential Designer.
Other community service includes Past Board member of the Nevada State Board of Architecture and Residential Design, Board Member of the Churchill County Board of Equalization, and Board member of the Churchill County Museum Association.
Getto will attend his first National Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Issues and Policy Committee meeting in May.
