Carson Tahoe Health (CTH), the UNR Reno Nevada Grows Project and Campie’s Lavender Patch are hosting activity booths today to celebrate Earth Day at the CTH Medical Center campus.
The event is in the CTH Medical Center’s Sage Cafe’, 1600 Medical Parkway, on Carson City’s north side. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., includes local environmentally friendly groups or organizations hosting activity booths and displays. They will provide cooking demonstrations, edible dining room displays, growing and composting methods, locally grown lavender products and other matters.
“This event,” according to a news release on the activities, “is designed to inform the community about local environmental sustainability efforts, and to offer some tips for earth-friendly living.”
Earth Day has been observed each April 22 since 1970. Some view the first Earth Day 44 years ago as marking a birth for the fledgling environmental movement then.
