Jeanne Grim, 87, died peacefully early Good Friday morning at The Lodge in Carson City. Jeanne was born in Paris, Texas to Doss E. and Ida Lee Diggs and graduated from Wellington High School (Kansas). She married Jack (Coog) Downing Grim on July 7, 1946. They lived in Claflin, Larned and Hays, Kansas where Jack taught high school and coached sports. The family moved to Minden, Nevada in 1963, where Jeanne worked in administrative and secretarial positions, including as the Douglas County Deputy Auditor and Recorder. Jack and Jeanne moved to Carson City in 1977 where they spent many happy years traveling in their motor home. Jeanne was a Christian, attending church from an early age, and participating in numerous church activities. She was an excellent cook, baker, and seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making afghans and booties for countless friends and family members. She also helped decorate wooden toys and crafts that Jack made and sold. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, older brother and sisters (Gordon, Thelma, Savella, and Mary). She leaves behind son Michael (Pam); daughter Shelle (Clarence); grandsons Joshua (Ivonne) and Justin (Kelley); granddaughter Jennifer (Mark); several great and step grandchildren; dear friend and neighbor Marguerite Wavra; and friends at The Lodge. At Jeanne’s request, no services will be held. The family extends our thanks to Dr. Robert Fliegler and all Jeanne’s caregivers during the past two years. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Honor Flight Nevada Inc. at P.O. Box 21123, Reno, NV 89515.
