The city of Fallon recently named Randy Beeghley its Employee of the Quarter.

Beeghly is a Fallon native and graduated from Churchill County High School. He has worked for the city for more than three years. Beeghly said when he first started working for the city he was in the Parks Department and he was recently promoted to the Water Department.

Beeghly said his responsibilities include a little bit of everything.

“I deal with water and sewer lines, replacing and fixing meters, repairing hydrants and maintaining city properties,” Beeghly said. “Right now I’m busy with remodeling parts of the pool. So you could say I dabble in a little bit of everything.”

Beeghly said he enjoys his job.

“It’s all very new to me, and I’m learning something new every day,” Beeghly said. “I have great people to work with who are very knowledgeable and they make it a great place to work.”

Before coming to work for the city, Beeghly said he worked at Heck’s Meat Company for 16 years, which was owned by his father, and Lakeridge Golf Course as the head professional golf teacher for 15 years.

Beeghly said after ownership changed at the golf course and with his son growing up so fast, he decided being close to home was more important, so he applied to an open position at the city.

Beeghly is married to Kim for about 18 years, and has a son, Brandon, who is 16 years old and a sophomore at CCHS.

Beeghly said he is a big sports guy. He said he coaches the CCHS freshmen football team and provides the color for the Greenwave football games on KVLV radio.

“I go to every Greenwave football game and announce the games with Larry Barker,” Beeghly said. “I’ve been announcing the games for four years now and really enjoy it. I get to sit in the announcers box and be a part of every game.”

According to the city, Beeghly was selected for Employee of the Quarter because of his work ethic, determination to learn and willingness to work overtime.
