Churchill County Sheriff’s deputies and volunteers combed an area west of Fallon looking for a man who has been missing since July 25.
The 45-year-old Fallon man has been listed as a missing person, reports the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Ben Trotter said the CCSO said on Monday Howard Shell’s vehicle was located July 25 stuck in the sand near Powerline Road southwest of Fallon. He was last seen on July 26 by a horseback rider.
When the rider asked Shell if he needed help, the Fallon man said he did not.
Trotter said four searches have been conducted, but he does know if more will be schduled.
The CCSO has searched the area for several days and the area has been flown by the CCSO’s search and rescue pilot. When last seen, the CCSO said Shell was thought to have been traveling north along a canal.
Shell is described as a white male, about 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing over 200 pounds.
If anyone locates Shell, contact the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office at 775-423-3116.
