New cardiologists provide expanded access

Residents in Fallon and surrounding areas have more local access to expert heart care with specialists from Renown Institute for Heart & Vascular Health. Doctors Thomas-Duythuc To, Troy Wiedenbeck and Christopher Wilson have recently joined the Institute and will continue to provide premiere heart care in northern Nevada and eastern California.

Renown Institute for Heart & Vascular Health continues to serve the heart care needs of residents in northern Nevada, including Carson City, Gardnerville, Elko, Fallon, Hawthorne, Winnemucca and Yerington, as well as communities in eastern California, including Bishop, Mammoth Lakes and Susanville.

The new cardiologists will begin seeing patients in September and join Doctors Letitia Anderson, Jake Ichino, and John Williamson, who currently see patients in Fallon. New and existing patients can call 775-867-7706 to schedule an appointment. The office is located at 801 E. Williams Ave.

Thomas-Duythuc To, M.D.

To specializes in preventive and clinical cardiology, vascular medicine and imaging. He received his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. He completed his cardiology fellowship training at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and is board certified in internal medicine.

“Every patient requires a unique treatment and approach to their overall care,” said To. “Even though we have a lot of technologies and many ways to cure disease, I think the most important thing is to prevent the disease from happening in the first place.”

Troy Wiedenbeck, M.D.

Wiedenbeck specializes in interventional cardiology, as well as preventive and clinical cardiology. A Nevada native, Wiedenbeck earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. He completed his cardiovascular fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and went on to specialize and complete additional fellowship training in interventional cardiology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Wiedenbeck is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and echocardiography.

“Interacting with patients is one my favorite parts of being a physician,” said Wiedenbeck. “The gratification I get from helping patients through tough times and being there for them is very rewarding for me.”

Christopher Wilson, M.D., PhD

Wilson specializes in preventive and clinical cardiology, as well as imaging. Wilson holds a medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He also holds a doctorate degree in cardiac metabolism. Wilson completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn. and is board certified in internal medicine.

“I was trained at the largest medical center in the world and I completed my residency and fellowship at one of the premiere institutions in the country, but ultimately I’m from a small town in Wyoming,” said Wilson. “That carries forward in how I approach my patients. It’s always important to treat each patient like you are treating someone in your family.”
