Letters to the editor: President Obama is an unmitigated disaster

As an octogenarian, I have seen a fair number of presidents come and go. Among them, the good, the bad and the indifferent. The current occupant of the White House, however, deserves a separate category: “the unmitigated disaster.” He is insufferably arrogant, pathologically narcissistic and a dedicated disciple of the Uber-left, the true poster boy for Cultural Marxism. Now, 5.5 years into his administration, he has established a solid history of relentless incompetence. His minions, however, reassure us not to worry because his utopian fantasies are alive and well and we should just all hold hands, sing Kumbaya and continue to drink the Kool-Aid as we watch our Constitutional Republic slowly circle the drain. This is, after all, Obama’s idea of the “fundamental transformation of the United States of America.”

Capitalism gets bad rep

Capitalism gets a really bad rep due largely in part to being mixed up in definition with corporatism. Corporatism involves the unholy union between government and business that breeds the worst greed and corruption economically. A capitalist free market, however, allows the individual personal financial liberty without government handouts and intervention, which means that businesses must take responsibility for their own failure to launch. It’s frightening to me that everyone’s so focused on the corruption of large corporations without actually saying a peep about how the state wastes our hard earned tax dollars on bailouts and unnecessary federal grants that wouldn’t even be needed in a free market. In a free market, people aren’t placed in this position of dependence from having to shovel ridiculous taxes and fees into the state. This system of coerced dependence is precisely why serfdom and poverty exists! But does anyone complain about how go! Vernment exploits business in order to reach it’s tentacles into our personal finances where it doesn’t belong. Is anyone fuming about how we’re taxed like mad to supposedly “fix” problems started by government in the first place? How about how, considering we as taxpayers fund someone else’s education yet student loans are repaid to government who forced our money away from us and borrowed it out on interest! If that’s not a wicked genius scheme to amass totally unjustified wealth for corporate government elites, then I don’t know what is!
