With a solid performance on Saturday, Scott Tenney is inching closer to clinching the Hobby Stock points title at Rattlesnake Raceway.

He increased his lead over Chris Christiano after a third-place showing in the main event, which was preceded by a win in the preliminary heat.

Taking the checkered flag, however, was Tony Taylor, who made his first start at Rattlesnake since June 7. Taylor didn’t even start in one of the two preliminary races, but was good enough to navigate through the main event to victory lane.

Tenney, meanwhile, pushed his points lead to 411-373 over Christiano, while Shane Cazel (367) sits in third and Dennis Buehn (331) is in a distant fourth.

Following Taylor in the main event, meanwhile, were Pete Baglin in second, Tenney, Rocky Goetz in fourth and Tami Beuhn in fifth.

In the Gen-X division, Randy Durst swept the division with a pair of wins in the preliminary heat and main event. Darren Albury, making his first start of the season at Rattlesnake, took second in both races, while points leader Christy Rasmussen also added a preliminary win and third-place finish in the main event.

She holds a 10-point lead over Jeremy Christen, who did not start in the prelim, but placed fourth in the main event.

Fred White, meanwhile, earned his first win of the season in the IMCA class. White was also victorious in the preliminary heat, followed by David Ausano, who placed second in both races.

Robert Mull, however, has a cushy 98-point lead for the division championship as he added a third- and fourth-place finish in the preliminary and main events, respectively.

Following Mull in the points standings are Travis White (304), Fred White (258) and Ausano (216).

Travis White placed fifth in the prelim and fourth in the main event, respectively.

In the IMCA northern sport modifieds class, Pete Olsen took the main event win, while Zachary Cail won the preliminary heat.

Racing continues at Rattlesnake on Aug. 23 at 6 p.m.
