CRYSTAL BAY — Kids & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center’s 15th annual fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13 from 4 to 9 pm. The patio and parking lot will be the set for the Western event.
Guests will be treated to barbeque catered by Brimm’s A Catering Co., live music by Sixteen Tons and entertainment by celebrity emcee, singer and songwriter Darin Talbot. The event will also feature whiskey tasting and dancing. Attendees are encouraged to wear western apparel. In addition to food and entertainment there will be silent and live auctions.
Kids & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center an opportunity for freedom and self-fulfillment for children and adults with special needs. “There are people who may think that Kids & Horses is about giving pony rides to children with special needs. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kids & Horses provides an extremely high level of integrated therapy,” said Tami Force, mother of 11-year-old Ryan, a student in the program. “He has Cerebral Palsy, Asperger’s Syndrome and he is also gifted and talented,” Force said.
Since all services are provided at minimal cost to the students, Kids & Horses seeks its financial support from private and corporate donors, service clubs, grants and its fundraising events.
