Five arrested on DUI charges over weekend

Four people were arrested on suspicion of DUI charges following traffic stops during the past weekend, three on charges they were drunk and one allegedly high on marijuana.

The first occurred Friday at 6:58 p.m. at Siskiyou and Shriver drives after a patrol deputy saw a vehicle skid through a turn and veer into the opposite traffic lane.

A man was arrested for DUI, but his passenger was booked on a felony after a search allegedly found a gram of methamphetamine in his pocket.

The second occurred at 1:47 a.m. Saturday when a deputy spotted a vehicle going the wrong way on a one-way street at Robinson and Curry streets. The 41-year-old woman was booked without incident.

The next arrest occurred at 10:56 p.m. after Sheriff Ken Furlong reported a vehicle partially in a driveway on Rex Circle and Dori Way. The driver was identified as an 18-year-old and failed a preliminary breath test. He was booked along with his 24-year-old friend who was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for providing the alcohol.

The fourth arrest occurred in the parking lot of Woody’s Casino on North Carson Street fat 8:36 a.m. According to the arrest report, the man admitted smoking marijuana earlier that day. He was also charged with possession and possession of paraphernalia.

All four were charged with DUI first offense with a standard bail of $1,000.
