Rewards are being offered in the case of two apparently unrelated thefts that occurred on subsequent days at Douglas County retail outlets, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Two men are being sought in connection with the theft of groceries from the Gardnerville Walmart on July 19.

At 9:46 p.m., the men selected several items, and brought the merchandise they selected to the self-check register. The men scanned each of the items and placed them into bags. They left the store without paying for the merchandise.

On July 20, as a storm was raging outside at 4:40 p.m., a man entered Target and walked to the electronics aisle. While in electronics, he began removing electronics from the packaging and walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

The man was described as white, about 5-foot 11-inches tall, and weighing 200 pounds. He had a buzz hair cut, and was wearing a plaid shirt with sleeves rolled up and dark jeans with sunglasses on his head.

Another man was waiting in the parking lot. The man was seen leaving in an older white Ford Bronco with a Nevada license plate similar to 007LXY.

A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous. Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call DCSO Dispatch at (775) 782-5126 or Douglas County Secret Witness at 775-782-7463 or DCSO Investigator Nate Almeida at 775-782-9908.
