Several members of the Silver State Gymnastics Academy walked off with top all-around honors at the Eye Opener Meet in Sparks over the weekend.
At Level 6 in the 9-11 division, Elle Liebendorfer was second on the vault and first on bars, beam and floor. At Level 3, 10-year-old Eliana Hollar won gold for bars and beam and silver on vault and floor en route to top all-around honors. Bella Planeta, 9, won vault, beam and floor on he way to her all-around gold. Nicole Hawkins, 11 and up, was third on vault, first on beam and second on floor en route to her all-around top finish.
At Level 3, Alexis Gardner, 7, won beam, was second on floor and bars and third on vault enroute to a silver all-around medal. Evianna McGowan was first on bars, second on floor and third on beam en route to a silver medal. Jessica Stine won vault, placed second on bars and third on beam en route to a bronze all-around medal.
At Level 6, Alycia Hellwinkel won vault, took second on beam and bars and third on floor en route to a silver medal in the 9-11 division.
Emma Habaradas placed third on vault, bars and beam and second on floor for a bronze in the 9-11 division. In the 12 and up group, Madison Adams won gold on the beam and took silver on the bars, vault and floor for a second place all-around award. Brenna Mitchell won bronze all-around after taking bronze in each of the four individual events.

Dayton freshmen take 4th
Dayton’s freshman team finished fourth at last weekend’s Wooster Tournament.
The team beat Virginia City’s JV team, 27-26, and lost to Sparks, 40-25, and North Tahoe JV, 50-41.
Colin Winebarger led the team in assists and steals en route to a spot on the all-tourney team.
