Despite not placing as high as they would like at this year’s National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Fallon’s Jade Corkill and his partner, Clay Tryan of Billings, Mont., are on top of the 2014 standings for another gold buckle.

After Wednesday’s seventh round, the duo is in first place in average with Tryan coming out in seventh as the header with a time of 10.60 seconds and Corkill third as the healer at 4.7.

The NFR concludes on Saturday with the 10th round as Corkill and Tryan try to snag another world championship to close out 2014. The duo is the only team roping tandem to catch all seven heads so far and they took over first place in the NFR aggregate standings.

The pair was eighth in Tuesday’s sixth round with a time of 10.6 but moved into the top spot in the NFR aggregate standings with a time of 54.90 for seven rides.
