The lawsuit filed two years ago against then-Nevada Senate Majority Leader Mo Denis, D-Las Vegas, has been dismissed.
The action was filed by the Nevada Policy Research Institute arguing that Denis could not simultaneously be a senator and work for the Public Utilities Commission. The conservative action group filed on behalf of a William Pojunis demanding that Denis be fired and denied any compensation for his employment there.
But Denis resigned from the PUC shortly after the issue was raised two years ago and a district court dismissed the whole lawsuit as moot.
Pojunis and NPRI appealed.
The high court on Wednesday ruled unanimously that the district court was right and the entire issue is moot in the wake of Denis’ resignation two years ago.
